Durazzo: 25-26 May, Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Chambers of Commerce
The sixth meeting of all chambers from both sides of the Adriatic and Ionian sea was held in Durazzo on the 25th and 26th of May 2006. The workshops started on the 25th of May at the Hotel Adriatik in Durazzo. Durazzo is the host of this year’s event. Following the welcome speeches of the President and guests, the first part of the day was dedicated to speeches of representatives of institutions, chambers and academic world. The Forum reached its most important moment in the afternoon with the opening of several workshops (topic tables) which had the following topics:
- Women’s Entrepreneurship
- Fishing and Fishfarming
- Transports
- Tourism
- Agriculture
- Environment
The Adriatic and Ionian Institutional Court examined the candidature of referees, conciliators and supervisors presented by expert Forum judges who will eventually form the list of professional legal advisers enabled to resolve potential controversies and disagreements amongst the operators of different countries. Such lists, together with the service price list agreed during the previous session, will allow the court to be fully operative.
The 26th of May was dedicated to the work of the assembly formed by all associates who approved the financial estimates and bill of quantities. It was also decided that the location for next year’s Forum will be Ancona, the place in which the Forum was launched in 2002. The final documents resulted from each workshop were presented together with the activities programme for 2007.
The VI Forum was concluded on the same day with a final meeting and a closing cocktail with all the Albanian political and institutional authorities. The cocktail was sponsored by the Italian cruise company Adriaferries, and was held on board the “Riviera del Conero” cruise ship which later left to go back to Ancona.
