At the initiative of the President of the Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Chambers of Commerce Mirjana Čagalj, a meeting between the Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Chambers of Commerce and the Danube Chambers of Commerce Association took place in Budapest on the 16th of May.

The aim of the meeting was to explore the possibilities of collaboration between the two regional associations that operate in accordance with EU Strategies for Adriatic Ionian and Danube region.

Mrs Čagalj presented the activities of the Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Chambers of Commerce, while the Danube Chambers of Commerce Association was presented by General Secretary Mr Peter Lőrincze. The emphasis of the meeting was on the preparation and implementation of projects co-financed by EU funds. Mrs Čagalj pointed out 6 projects that are being prepared for the application in the framework of the program Interreg IPA CBC Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro, while Mr Lőrincze emphasized a project about vocational and educational training lead by Budapest Chamber of Commerce as main project partner. One of the topics was also the AI-NURECC initiative that aims at contributing to a more effective implementation of the EUSAIR and Action plan, in which the Forum is a partner.

Representatives of Budapest Chamber of Commerce, Croatian Chamber of Economy County Chamber Split, as well as the deputy of the National Coordinator of Hungary in the EUSDR, Mr.Gabor Jenei also participated in the meeting.

It has been concluded that there is great potential for cooperation through the realization of activities and projects of common interest, all with the goal of better realization of Action Plans of the two EU macroregional strategies.
