Forum AIC recognized once again by the European Commission for its ongoing impact
The Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Chambers of Commerce (Forum AIC) is honored to be featured once again in the 5th Biennial Report of the European Commission on EU Macro-Regional Strategies. This recognition reaffirms our continued and active role as one of the three main civil society networks supporting the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR).
Together with our esteemed partners — the Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Cities (FAIC) and UniAdrion, the network of Universities of the Adriatic and Ionian Region — Forum AIC plays a vital role in fostering multi-level cooperation, reinforcing regional cohesion, and promoting sustainable and inclusive development across the macro-region. Through our collective efforts, we now engage more than 120 institutions spanning eight participating countries, strengthening the foundations of a resilient and prosperous Adriatic-Ionian area.
The European Commission’s report also highlights our significant contribution to the AI-NURECC PLUS initiative — a flagship project that embodies a bottom-up, participatory approach to macro-regional development. This initiative effectively brings together diverse stakeholders — including public institutions, the private sector, youth representatives, and civil society organizations — to work collaboratively in support of key European objectives such as EU enlargement, the green transition, and inclusive growth.
We express our sincere gratitude to the European Commission and the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) for acknowledging our efforts and the impact of our work. This recognition motivates us to continue advancing cross-border partnerships and to strengthen our commitment to regional cooperation.
As we look to the future, we reaffirm our dedication to building a more resilient, inclusive, and forward-thinking Adriatic-Ionian macroregion.
