WORKGOUPS’ FINAL DOCUMENTS

REPORT ON THE ACTIVITIES OF THE INTERNATIONAL COURT OF THE ADRIATIC AND IONIAN AREA

The 2007 Forum edition was considered innovative for two main reasons:

  1. The start-up of activities referred to a project for the development of judicial, commercial, conciliatory and arbitratory assistance in the Adriatic area. This initiative was funded with national funds (l.84/01) and is aimed at harmonising procedures in different countries located around the Adriatic Sea. (See report)
  2. The presentation of the contribution to the Green Paper on European Marine Integrated Policies given by the Forum in collaboration with the Ancona Chamber of Commerce. (See contribution to the green paper).

The achievement, for the first time ever, of the patronage of European Parliament indicates that the Forum represents an example of best practice to continue fostering economic development in the Adriatic basin. Important and strategic guidelines given by prestigious guests who partecipated at the VII event represent precious suggestions which the Forum will base its cooperation activities upon: a more dynamic economy in the Adriatic area may favour work employment, may ensure greater prosperity to all citizens and furthermore, may encourage greater investments by both national and European public institutions.

Conclusions Hon. Luciana Sbarbati European Parliament
